The victory of the Jukola-relay went this year to the Norwegian Kristiansand OK. There was no race for victory at the finish line, the team’s anchor Daniel Hubmann was allowed to cross the finish line at his own pace. The team placed second, also a Norwegian one, Halden SK finished one and a half minutes behind the winners.

– A great thank you for the team. This is a relay and you win as a team, the anchor of the winning team Daniel Hubbmann stated joyfully in the finish.

The Jukola victory was the second one for Hubbmann – he was the Kristiansand anchor also on 2009, when Kristiansand won. From Kristiansand’s this year’s team also Baptiste Rollier was there to win Jukola in 2009 in Mikkeli. The other team members – Vegard Danielsen, Milos Nykodym, Mats Dahlén, Hans Gunnar Omdal and Martin Hubmann, are celebrating their first Jukola victory. Especially good the victory feels for Mats Dahlén, who finishes his active orienteering career for now. He has been working as the Kristiansand’s coach for the last few years.

The best Finnish team was the last year’s winner Kalevan Rasti, who placed third this year. The team’s anchor Thierry Guergiou stated in the finish that the team had prepared well, but it just was others’ turn this year.

– The terrain was nice and good to run. In the beginning I could keep a good pace, but after that it began to slow down. I gave all that I had, but this is the result, Guergiou summed his performance.
