Conveniently to Valio-Jukola by bus

Some 70 000 people, 10 000 vehicles and 300 buses are expected to Valio-Jukola this weekend. The heavy traffic load in the area will last for nearly a week starting from Thursday 14.6. The organizers urge people to use public transportation as much as possible and reserve plenty of time for their journey to Valio-Jukola. The local residents are advised to avoid the following roads as much as possible: Kehä III, Hevoshaantie and Hakunilantie.

Conveniently to Valio-Jukola by bus

Bus routes across the Helsinki metropolitan area will be the most convenient way to reach the Valio-Jukola competition centre located at the Hakunila sports grounds, Vantaa. The routes 62, 68, 68X and 562 operate from the Tikkurila railway station (normal journey time ca. 20 minutes). The bus routes 730, 731N, 740, 741 and 742 operate directly from the Helsinki railway station (normal journey time ca. 30 minutes). The bus routes 62, 87 and 562 operate from the Mellunmäki metro station (normal journey time ca. 15 minutes).

The bus routes 62 and 741 will operate throughout the Jukola night with additional frequent service schedules. In addition, a special Valio-Jukola route 68X will operate from the Tikkurila railway station to ca. 400 meters from the completion centre in 10 to 20 minute intervals from Saturday 16.6. 10.00 hours until Sunday 17.6. 01.00 hours, and again during Sunday between 08.00 and 13.00 hours from Hakunila to Tikkurila railway station.

The bus stop for the routes 62, 87 and 562 is located in front of the Hakunila shopping centre from where it is ca. 1 km walk to the competition centre. All the other bus routes stop at the junction of Hakunilantie and Hevoshaantie, located immediately above the Hakunila swimming pool from where the walking distance to the competition centre is ca. 400 meters. Avoid using the Ring Road III (Kehä III)

Those arriving by car to Valio-Jukola need to prepare for heavy traffic. The busiest time will be Saturday when traffic is expected to create bottlenecks at the junction of Hakunilatie and Kehä III starting from 08.00 hours. Equally the departing traffic will crowd the same roads from Sunday morning until late in the afternoon.

The traffic will experience long queues especially on Kehä III from where the cars are directed to the parking area. If possible, the local residents should avoid Kehä III, Hakunilantie and Hevoshaantie and use other, alternative routes. The increased traffic will have effects all the way to the Porvoo motorway and Länsimäki on Kehä III.

The Sotungintie will be closed for traffic between the junctions of Hakunilantie and Länsisalmentie from 16.00 hours on Friday 15.6. until 18.00 hours on Sunday 17.6. The local residents will have special permits for the use of the road. In addition, public paths are closed in the vicinity of the Nissas Manour House, and within the grounds of the Hakunila Sports Centre.

Follow the sign postage

Those arriving to the Valio-Jukola by car are instructed to follow the organisers’ sign postage that will be in place from 10.00 hours on Friday 15.6. The parking in Jukola is arranged to the vicinity of Kehä III and it costs EUR 10 per vehicle. This fee will be collected once parked to the indicated parking space. Please ensure that you have the exact amount readily available.

· Approaching from west: Kehä III at the Tikkurila junction onwards
· Approaching from east: Porvoo motorway from Kulloo junction onwards
· Approaching from north: Lahti motorway from Kerava junction onwards
· Approaching from south from the center of Helsinki and Kehä I: Lahti motorway from Porvoo motorway junction onwards

Organisers instruct those arriving to the competition centre from the direction of the Highway 5 (Valtatie 5) to use route Mikkeli-Kouvola-Porvoo in order to avoid any unnecessary traffic bottlenecks from forming. Please remember to reserve plenty of time for your journey!
