SInging and beauty of the nature in the centre stage at the forest church of Jukola

In the early evening of Saturday, Hans Tuominen, the vicar of the Hakunila parish welcomed over 300 church goers to Håkansböle manor house grounds where the Valio-Jukola forest church was organised. Anne Viljamaa and the ensemble HowManyMothers, the flutist Inna Vintturi and pianist Ville Myllykoski provided the music for the event.

In his opening speech Tuominen acknowledged the historic landscape surrounding the Manor House where also royaties have visited. He also talked about his orienteering hobby that he had started as a young boy.He learned early on that mistakes in choosing the best routes in orienteering happen, for him nowadays only in the small, local orienteering events. In the same way we all make mistakes with choosing the right path in our every day lives and we need to find a new direction at times.

Bishop of Helsinki Irja Askola delivered the sermon. She encouraged us all to get along with ourselves, each other  and to be more forgiving. Instead of demands, she engouraged acceptance. We still have tomorrow, future and hope.

At the end Tuominen welcomed all the church goers for a coffee session while explaining how he was filled with joy when his wife had reached finish line at Venla’s earlier in the day. His own Jukola experience is still ahead at the late hours of Saturday.
