The flags of the participating countries.
The nightless night at Jukola is very international. There are teams from 20 countries in the relay. All in all, there are 2860 teams and as many as 551 of them are from other countries than Finland. Most of them are from Finland´s neighbouring countries, for instance Sweden, Norway and Russia, but there are also teams from Ireland, Ukraine, Belarus, Italy and even from the USA.
In addition, more than 40 journalists from different parts of Europe have come to report the latest news of the relay. However, the furthest distance has been travelled by a volunteer from Chile.
