The 37th Venla relay is now underway. Over 1232 female teams from 17 different countries left for the forest with maps in hand.

Since the 2012 Valio-Jukola, maps have been handed out to competitors a few minutes before the start. Previously, maps were snatched from a line hanging above.

Due to the challenging terrain, the first leg of 5km will take the top teams about 30 minutes to complete. The first changeover is expected to take place after 14.30.
