Route choice exercise 2: Ponsa

The terrain for the second route choice task by Kangasala-Jukola course setters was chosen to be the paradise of orienteering, the terrain with open rock and hills – the Ponsa. Again, the task is to plan a route choice on the example leg which is suitable to your skills and orienteering level.

The leg is planned by Petteri Laitinen. Runnability and visibility of the uphill leg varies widely. The green areas are mostly young deciduous forest, which is difficult to see through and danger of aberration is big. Nevertheless, the grey open rock areas are very fast and borderlines between different types of forest are well visible. What would be your solution for this enigma?

As earlier, solution suggestions from the course setters will be published a bit later.
