Jukola’s adventure area is a nice place for all ages

Jukola has lots of fun activities to do for the little ones in between watching the exciting competition. Older ones are also welcome!

The volunteers of the Guides and Scouts of Southwest Finland created an impressive action and adventure area along the Impivaaranpolku path.

The “Rambo track” offers opportunities to challenge your balance and agility, and after that you can try out different games in the Children’s World.

Ville Lemberg, 9, was drawing a large sun on the asphalt in the play area.

– We came here from Seinäjoki. Mom will compete today, he says.

– I am an orienteerer as well, but I’m not allowed to compete yet.

There are different activities available in the scouts camp area.

– You can see here traditional scout tents, such as a loue and a half-platoon tent, shows Essi Kosonen from Kaarinan Korpiklaani’s scout group.

– Kim’s game is a traditional way to learn anything related to scouting: one object is removed and then you have to remember it. Moreover, the visitors can make a spin-top.

Although carving is one of the traditional scouting skills, a knife is not given to anyone at once.

– We are using regular sharpeners here for security reasons, Kosonen says with a laugh.

There are plans to have a campfire in the evening, but the fire authorities have not yet given an official permission for lighting a fire.
